I came across these soon to be released kicks via Kix And The City (Online Magazine Dedicated to Sneaker Culture).
The concept is inspired by Native American culture. Unique sneaker elements are the cracked leather and traditional Native American prints on the upper, rawhide laces with beads, and a spearhead at the ends.
It will be interesting to see how the Native American community, especially the sneakerheads, respond to the shoe. Will they rock’em with pride or view them as an uninspiring concept?
Check out how others are responding on the link above, in the comment section. Funny how people have different tastes!
Would I rock’em? Not sure, maybe in a low top. But the light blue is a problem, not my favorite color (reminds me of North Carolina Tar Heels).
(***Update*** This blog will no longer be updated. New posts are over at www.baller21.com).

When will the air shoeslave model be coming out? Make the cost about a years wages and have them be the color of blood . Then add the gps chip so if the slaves escape they can be efficiently hunted down and killed.

They dont look bad but they should donate some of the profit to native americans for a good cause. Fuck you if you think thats outlandish too. Only reason they wouldnt do that is because Nike is probably greedy and dont give a shit about the indian people, or any people for that matter. I guess they are just trying to get more different ethnicities to buy their product!

I would have to agree with ian, he has a good point.
I love the shoes and would TOTALLY support them, but FUCK COLUMBUS DAY…we were here first, that stupid fuck was lost when the natives found and saved him, and you think by giving us some ‘rez land’ that we forgive you ! WE save your dam lives and repayed us horribly!!!!!!
chieffy // December 1, 2008 at 11:47 pm
yea i agree with the other guys but man tho that would be so cool if they had a clothing line thats all native

I agree with SomdayBalla11. I LOVE these shoes, and I would wear them, but seriously, give us Natives some credit. Your fuckin “BIA” is supposed ot help us on rezs, but you know what? we are so screwed over it’s not even funny. And now the BIA is leasing holy land on rezs to companies? I hope that reincarnation is real, just so that everyone that screwed us over gets incarnated into the natives from when the whites first got here. Then they’d see how we’ve suffered

As a young native, I would be proud to wear some native looking shoes, but I agree with Ian, those shoes aren’t about the native people, those shoes are about trying to get more ethnic groups to buy their products. Come on, give us some more respect, don’t just give us a pair of shoes that aren’t really about us anyway.

THESE KICKS ARE AWESOME-O. Tell me where you I can get a pair… Seriously. I could wear them with the traditional outfits. Modern and Traditonal eh?
The Great DineBito // March 31, 2009 at 9:29 am
These kicks are seriously native inspired, but for real if these were to hit the stores they would be gone in a heart beat. As Native People thank you!! Something Finally went right for Natives. Ill be keeping a look out for these kicks. SO FREAKN AWESOME

I’d love to purchase these. Though I am only half native, I think these would be awesome to wear to work as my little symbol and pride of my heritage. I do think that some money should go to those on the rez. It’s unfortunate that companies like Nike are so well off and sponge off of a community that has little monetarily to offer, but a wealth on knowedge and heritage.
Chad // May 28, 2009 at 4:12 pm
Love these shoes. As a member of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, I want a pair.

jeniece // August 14, 2009 at 6:03 pm
I agree. the shoes are hot but wat are they doing for our people? ( native americans) they dont help us with nothing so y are u selling our heritage!!!
Aimee Goguen // August 19, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Nike is only interested in selling these Native American inspired high tops to lesbians.
Jovannana // September 11, 2009 at 3:34 pm
(((((These shoes are cool))))) but dang i know all these natives are mad about all the things that weve been screwed over about but cant we just say that we like the shoes and not have some big discussion over ‘ oh they took this, and they did this to natives’ there just shoes. Im native and i like these shoes, but whats with all these stupid comments. If your mad about something than do something about it. Writing what you think in a comment box isnt going to change anything.
brooklyn // October 20, 2009 at 2:32 pm
thats dumb. they only want the looks of our culture, they dont really know what any of the patterns mean! but other than that they look iight.
